In many ways, 2025 was the year that delivered on the hype. Geese, for one, capped years of rising buzz with Getting Killed, an idiosyncratic and undeniable third album whose emotional centerpiece, “Au Pays du Cocaine,” became our song of the year. Meanwhile, Dijon, whose off-kilter R&B has been steadily infiltrating the mainstream, showcased the full potential of his distinctive style, while Oklou pushed her dreamy synth pop to new heights.
At the same time, veterans like Bad Bunny and Rosalía continued to up their ambition, reaching new peaks in careers already full of them, while indie favorites Bon Iver, Alex G and Panda Bear continued molding their well-worn styles in new ways.
Our list of the 50 best songs of 2025 barely scratches the surface of all the great music released in the past year, but it highlights what we found most exciting and enjoyable at Moments Noticed.
